The Opportunity
Join us as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at our flagship Bardon Hill Super Quarry, one of only three super quarries in the UK and a vital player in our national operations. Youll be part of a tight-knit 24/7 maintenance team that keeps this high-output site running safely, reliably, and efficiently.
This is a full-time, permanent role that offers you a unique opportunity to bring your mechanical expertise to a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Working on a 4 on 4 off 5 on 5 off 12 hour days shift, youll be essential in keeping our plant running smoothly and supporting continuous improvement. If you're ready for a role where each shift brings fresh challenges and impact, this could be the perfect opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
o Perform essential maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
o Ensure all work aligns with safety standards and contributes to a safe working environment.
o Identify potential issues early, helping to prevent unplanned downtime during production during the day shift.
o Carry out routine assessments to ensure machinery and structures remain reliable.
o Focus on continuous improvement, driving efficiency and performance across the site.
o Collaborate with the team to maximize resource use and ensure smooth, 24/7 operations.
Who you are
Youre a hands-on mechanical professional with experience in an industrial setting, ready to make a positive impact on our team.
* You have solid mechanical maintenance skills, ideally with experience in quarry or heavy manufacturing settings but isn't essential.
* Have a minimum of a level 3 NVQ in mechanical engineering or equivalent
* Safety is your top priority, and youre committed to following all necessary protocols
* Youre comfortable working independently and know how to collaborate well with others
* You can solve problems quickly, minimising equipment downtime
* You pay close attention to detail, carrying out inspections and maintenance tasks with care
