About Swan Care Home
Swan Care Home is a warm, family-run home based in the heart of New Waltham. With just 18 bedrooms, we pride ourselves on creating a close-knit, supportive environment where residents are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Our mission is simple: to deliver the highest quality care, always striving for excellence and ensuring that every resident feels at home.
Why Join Us?
This is a rare opportunity for a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to join from the very beginning and play a key role in shaping the future of Swan Care Home. You'll have the autonomy to lead the service, embed best practice, and build a positive, person-centred culture — all with the support of a committed Managing Director.
Your Role
As the Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall leadership, quality, and compliance of the home. This includes:
* Providing day-to-day operational leadership and setting high standards across all aspects of the service.
* Ensuring full compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and all statutory regulations.
* Building, mentoring, and managing a motivated staff team, including carrying out supervisions, appraisals, and ongoing training.
* Overseeing admissions and assessments of potential new residents.
* Leading on safeguarding, care planning, risk assessments, and incident management.
* Working closely with residents and their families to ensure care is tailored, person-centred, and meets individual needs.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with regulatory requirements.
* Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation, and service development.
About You
We are looking for a leader who is not only experienced but also passionate about care. To be successful in this role, you should have:
* At least 3 years' experience in a Registered Manager role, or in a senior management position within a care home.
* A proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and developing a team.
* In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations and experience of achieving compliance and good inspection outcomes.
* Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and drive improvement.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a compassionate and approachable manner.
* NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
What We Offer
* A unique chance to shape and establish the service from its early days.
* A supportive, family-run organisation with a genuine commitment to staff and residents.
* Competitive salary (dependent on experience).
* Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
* The opportunity to work in a close-knit home where your leadership truly makes a difference.
