Scaleup Business Advisor - Growth Specialist
The Growth Company (GC) is looking to recruit a part-time Scaleup Business Advisor, experienced in leading and managing rapidly growing businesses. We seek individuals from entrepreneurial or senior management backgrounds eager to share their expertise and passion for business growth with ambitious leaders facing similar challenges.
This is a part-time role for four days per week (flexible on working days), working 28 hours, on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2025.
The role involves assessing the growth potential of businesses through a competitive application process, diagnosing barriers to growth, and developing strategies and action plans to overcome these barriers. Advisors will guide businesses from enquiry to the implementation of growth strategies.
The primary responsibility is to support business leaders throughout their Scale to Thrive journey, helping clients reach their full growth potential and improve performance, including productivity, market entry, and job creation and safeguarding.
The Advisor will manage a portfolio of approximately 50 clients annually, working with customer groups and strategic partners to promote the service. Flexibility in deployment for various projects and programs will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handling client enquiries via phone and email, assessing growth potential and needs, and establishing relationships.
* Account managing and mentoring clients, monitoring outputs like job creation and GVA increases.
* Conducting detailed diagnostics on businesses or specific areas using various tools.
* Discussing complex business challenges with clients.
* Providing bespoke growth support, including multidisciplinary interventions.
* Developing a network of contacts for referrals.
* Ensuring clients meet eligibility criteria and are introduced to appropriate services.
* Monitoring and recording data on outputs and impacts throughout projects.

Skills and Experience Required:
* Senior management experience in relevant sectors/business areas.

* Proven track record in managing business growth issues.
* Knowledge in strategy, sales & marketing, resources & operations, financial planning.
* Understanding of key organizations supporting economic and business growth.
