About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. Actively living our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you’re not out on the road, you’ll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming team.
Key responsibilities
* Start your day in store and be responsible for checking your delivery routes for the day.
* Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
* Ensure all vehicle safety checks are completed, maintaining full road compliance and health and safety.
* Be an ambassador for the Waitrose brand with great customer service as the number one priority.
* Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need
* Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Great customer service skills.
* Time management skills.
* Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
* Comfortable working independently with self-motivation and adaptability.
* IT literate.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.
Hours and vacancies
* 22 hours per week – Vacancy one: Sunday & Monday 13:45-21:45; Friday 14:15-21:45.
* Vacancy two: Two week rota. Week one Sunday 07:15-14:45; Thursday & Saturday 07:00-15:00. Week two Sunday 07:15-14:45; Wednesday & Thursday 07:00-15:00.
