The Role
Norton Motorcycles is seeking an NPD Quality Engineer in the electrical/electronic field with experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Automotive industries. You will be a proactive individual with a hands-on approach to Quality, leading by example to foster a Quality First mindset within an OEM environment, working on new product ranges.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the NPD Quality Manager in defining, developing, and executing quality deliverables as part of the NPD process.
* Develop product inspection processes throughout pre-production builds for handover to the current vehicle quality team.
* Ensure inspection standards are met according to NPD timelines.
* Collaborate cross-functionally on DFMEA, PFMEA, design reviews, control plans, DFM, and other NPD processes.
* Assist in planning and development of electrical/electronic architecture testing at the product and part levels.
* Coordinate with the Supplier Quality team on PPAP delivery.
* Manage and resolve issues identified during build and test phases using Norton’s problem resolution system.
* Liaise with Supplier Quality on development part issues during pre-production.
Personal Specification
* Knowledge of electrical/electronic architecture (Automotive).
* Understanding of part and product specifications, including CAN and LIN communication protocols.
* Experience with electrical test cases and plans.
* Ability to interpret electrical test reports.
* Electrical engineering experience is preferred.
* Understanding of electrical requirements and technical drawings.
* Knowledge of international standards is advantageous.
* Proficient in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels.
* Self-sufficient with strong organizational skills.
