A London based venture capital firm is looking for a newly created Head of Procurement role. The firm makes investments into pioneering ventures in the Advanced Technology & Industrial, Finance & Fintech, and Healthtech & Human Performance sectors. Through funding, active management, an internal accelerator and a network of partners, this firm actively incubates, builds and accelerates ventures with the potential to shape and define the future for generations to come. They typically take majority positions in the businesses they own and focus on hand-on venture building with their Portfolio Companies on a day-to-day basis, as a result their Portfolio is small and concentrated.
The Head of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the procurement strategy for the organisation, ensuring that we obtain quality materials and services at competitive prices. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and vendor management. Responsible for identifying and negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategies to identify qualified suppliers
* Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality of goods/services
* Monitor supplier performance metrics to ensure compliance with contractual agreements
* Develop procurement policies and procedures in accordance with company standards
* Analyse market trends to identify cost savings opportunities
* Ensure compliance with company policies related to procurement activities
* Develop reports on procurement activities for senior management review
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
* Manage the purchasing process from requisition to delivery of goods/services
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
* Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that align with the organisation’s overall goals
* Manage the budget for all procurement activities
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment between procurement strategies and business objectives
Required Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
* MCIPS qualified
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, preferably within advanced technologies or marine industries
* Can demonstrate the successful development and implementation of sourcing strategies
* Clear knowledge and understanding of supply market, industry, and category dynamics
* A successful track record leading and managing complex negotiations
This is a permanent position based in our London Fitzrovia office.
To foster a culture of collaboration, we expect all our employees to work in the office 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday, with the option of working at home on Friday.
