New Directions Education is urgently recruiting passionate and resilient SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs across primary, secondary, and specialist provisions.
If you have experience supporting children or young people with:
1. Special Educational Needs (SEN)
2. Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH)
3. Challenging behaviour
4. Autism (ASC)
5. ADHD
6. Trauma or attachment needs

What you’ll be doing
7. Providing 1:1 and small‑group support
8. Helping pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour and engage in learning
9. Working alongside teachers and support teams to create a safe, positive environment
10. Using de‑escalation and nurture‑based approaches
11. Encouraging independence, confidence and progress
We’re looking for
12. Experience in SEN/SEMH, youth work, care, alternative provision or similar
13. Strong behaviour management and communication skills
14. A calm, patient and supportive approach
15. Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
16. Availability for an immediate start
