We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Thameside. HMP Thameside is a category B remand prison located in South East London, close to Plumstead and Woolwich Arsenal stations. The prison houses around 1,232 patients with a variety of needs, including complex and acute mental health needs.

We are seeking a strong clinical, forensic or counselling psychologist, who has previously worked within a fully integrated mental health service, and understands the needs of psychological services required and delivered within a prison healthcare setting. In this role, you will manage a Preceptorship Psychologist and a Clinical Associate Psychologist, and develop psychological services at a busy remand site where many patients only stay short term.
Hours
Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm
Salary
You will receive an annual salary of up to £82,000 depending on experience.

Main duties
* Support development of trauma-informed mental health services
* Provide clinical support and oversight to the IMHT
* Undertake psychological assessments
* Support multi-disciplinary formulations
* Deliver complex psychological interventions
* Lead 1:1 and group interventions, including the 'Making Sense' Trauma Informed Programme
* Provide training to staff as needed
* Contribute to audit, evaluation, and research activities

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Registered with HCPC/BPS or relevant body
* Experience in highly specialist psychological assessment and treatment across various settings, including forensic environments
* Experience working with psychological trauma
* Senior qualified clinical/forensic/counselling psychologist experience
