We are seeking an experienced estates professional to join our team as Director of Estates.
This is a challenging yet rewarding leadership role where you will have the ability to influence and make a real impact on the estate environment to support the delivery of outstanding patient care.
Main duties of the job
1. Coordinate a compliant Estates Maintenance and Facilities Management such that the estate is a safe place to work and meets clinical safety standards within the built environment
2. Co-ordinate strategic direction and ensure the alignment of the capital, estates and facilities services with the Trust’s corporate objectives Operational Plan and Clinical Strategy.
3. Lead the implementation of improvement initiatives that involve Property Services including all Hard FM service provisions, estates management and estates utilisation.
4. Develop and lead on all ‘environmental’ policies both internally and in conjunction with local bodies and PFI partners.
5. Responsibility to ensure the Trust liaises appropriately with the local community and stakeholders to maximise alignment with commissioners, business and strategic plans.
6. Ensure the delivery and implementation of the relevant parts of the Trust’s Net Zero Strategy that fall within this role e.g. removal of single use plastics, energy utilisation, green travel and transport strategies.

Education
Essential criteria
7. Fully Relevant professional qualification in engineering ideally at Masters level.
8. Membership of professional body
9. Relevant Health and Safety qualification/knowledge
Experience
Essential criteria
10. Significant experience in an Associate Director of operational estates role and property services including hard and soft services.
11. Working knowledge of HBN’s/HBN’s & Space for Health-related sites.
12. Experience of managing Asbestos in an NHS environment
13. Experience of working in a customer service environment.
14. Experienced in building high performing teams, and change Management skills
Desirable criteria
15. Experience of managing contracts.
