The successful candidate will be required to carry out a variety of duties within the MRI department to assist radiographers, nurses, radiologists, and patients as needed. Working as part of a team is essential to ensure smooth operations. They must be patient-focused and able to advocate for patients when required.
They should be able to handle telephone inquiries from various sources, prioritize workload, and work independently when necessary.
Essential requirements include a good level of general education, basic understanding of IT, and strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Working Pattern: 3 shifts of 12.5 hours (7:20 - 20:30), including weekends.
The role involves providing high-quality, responsive MRI services within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining high patient care standards, assisting in delivering direct patient care, and ensuring safe practice according to departmental protocols.
Tasks may include patient care, scheduling, interdepartmental communication, patient support, moving and handling, cannulation (post-training), preparing examination rooms, taking patient observations, restocking equipment, chaperoning during exams, portering patients, and booking appointments.
The working hours start at 07:20 and end at 20:30, across three sites (Royal Hallamshire, Northern General, Weston Park), covering 7 MRI scanners and all specialist areas.
