THE BUSINESS
Based in Consett, our client is a well-established and forward-thinking engineering business specialising in the reverse engineering and refurbishment of rotating equipment. Supporting a wide range of industrial sectors, they provide expert servicing, repair, and overhaul solutions across all types of pumps.

THE ROLE
• Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings using a range of machining methods, with a strong focus on horizontal boring
• Operate and set machinery to produce high-quality parts for both in-house assemblies and global customer supply
• Work to tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and consistency
• Ensure all work meets required quality standards and aligns with company procedures and British Standards
• Interpret and work confidently with both metric and imperial measurements
• Contribute to a flexible workshop environment handling a wide variety of components and materials
• Collaborate closely with a small, skilled team to achieve production targets and maintain workflow efficiency
• Support continuous improvement and take part in team-based or cross-functional activities
THE PERSON
• Time-served machinist with solid, hands-on experience in a machine shop environment
• Proven experience working with a variety of materials
• Strong background in horizontal boring; experience with Fagor controls is advantageous
• CNC machining knowledge or experience would be beneficial
• Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings accurately
• Committed to producing work to a high standard with strong attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage workload effectively to meet deadlines
• Team-oriented with a proactive and flexible approach to work
