Education Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate – Brighton, East Sussex- Hybrid working
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate/Senior Associate Private Client Solicitor to join a highly regarded Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked Private Client Advisory team based in Brighton, with hybrid working options available. This role offers the chance to work with a collaborative and high-performing team advising high-net-worth individuals and families.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
You will manage a varied and complex caseload, advising families, schools and education-related organisations on a broad range of matters, including:
* SEND Tribunal appeals (primary focus)
* Upper Tribunal appeals
* School exclusions and admissions
* Disability Discrimination Act cases
* Complaints to Local Authorities, LGO and school governing bodies
* Education-related Judicial Reviews
* Safeguarding and education law advice for schools and colleges
* SEN strategy advice and EHCP health checks
* Community Care matters linked to education cases
* Handling both privately and publicly funded work
* Supervising junior colleagues and carrying out file reviews
* Building relationships with key stakeholders to drive new instructions
* Writing and delivering seminars to charities and education organisations
* Producing education law articles and case
About You:
* 2-8 years' PQE as a Qualified Solicitor
* Strong expertise in education law, particularly SEND Tribunal work
* Confidence managing a diverse caseload with minimal supervision
* A collaborative, supportive approach to mentoring junior team members
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A proactive attitude towards business development and networking
