Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams. As an officer in the Compliance and Monitoring team, part of the Reservoir Regulation team, you will monitor compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2140 reservoirs in England.
Responsibilities
* manage day-to-day correspondence
* record incoming documentation on our database to ensure records are accurate and up to date
* encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected
* be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers
* provide information and advice on the requirements of the Act

Role details
This is a part-time job share (22.2 hours per week). The team is part of the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department within the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. The Reservoir Regulation team is a nationally dispersed team of 25+ members responsible for regulation of more than 2140 large raised reservoirs in England. Some travel and overnight stays will be required.
Location and travel
This is a national role and you can be based at any Environment Agency office. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
Training and duties
All new staff undertake training and participate in incident response duties when needed. Having an incident role is an essential part of working for the Environment Agency and supports communities and the environment. Further information on incident response can be found in your candidate pack.
