HRLife is delighted to be working in partnership with a privately owned, growing SME to appoint an HR Director.


Reporting to the UK CEO, with a dotted line into the Global CHRO, this is a high-impact, commercial leadership role sitting at the heart of the business, supporting and influencing senior stakeholders and turning strategy into action. This role offers real scope to make your mark at an exciting time of change.


You’ll be joining a business that puts people at the heart of everything. A business operating in a highly technical, quality-driven and regulated environment, where precision, compliance and expertise sit at the core of what they do, supporting a diverse population of specialist and professional workforces.


This is a highly visible role that blends strategic leadership with operational delivery. You’ll be responsible for leading a high-performing HR team, whilst developing and delivering a forward-thinking people strategy that enables sustainable growth and keeps the business at the forefront of its sector.


Operating as a trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with leaders across the business to embed a strong, people-centric culture, driving performance, engagement and accountability. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring alignment between local priorities and global frameworks, bringing a commercial and pragmatic approach to HR.


Key to success will be your ability to build credibility, understand the nuances of the business and influence at the highest level, support and nurture your HR team, whilst balancing strategic thinking with a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Developing and delivering a visionary people strategy to support long-term business growth In partnership with the CEO
* Acting as a strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leaders on all people-related matters
* Leading, developing and evolving the HR function to support growth, performance and organisational effectiveness
* Embedding a strong, values-led culture that promotes engagement, accountability and continuous improvement
* Driving organisational change and transformation, ensuring HR is aligned to business priorities
* Supporting M&A activity, including due diligence, integration and cultural alignment
* Leading talent, succession and capability strategies to support future growth
* Overseeing HR operations, ensuring robust governance, compliance and best practice across the employee lifecycle
* Using data and insight to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact


You’ll also play a key role in championing wellbeing, inclusion and safety across the organisation, ensuring a positive and high-performing environment where people feel valued and supported.

They’re looking for a credible, commercially minded HR leader with the gravitas to operate at senior level and the ability to influence and coach senior stakeholders. You’ll bring experience of working within complex, evolving and ideally global environments, with a strong track record of leading teams and driving change.


Your profile will include:

* Proven experience operating at HR Director level within a complex, commercial organisation, ideally a highly technical, quality-driven and regulated environment
* Strong generalist HR background with experience across both strategic and operational delivery, with a strength in organisational design
* Experience of leading and developing high-performing HR teams
* Exposure to global environments, with the ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and regions
* Experience of organisational change and M&A activity
* Strong understanding of UK employment law and governance, with broader international exposure advantageous
* Fully CIPD qualified
* Happy to travel to various sites


Up to £115k plus car allowance and discretionary bonus

Hybrid working with travel to various sites (occasional international travel)
