Overview
As a Wind Turbine Service Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines covering turbines around the Haslingden area. You will carry out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities to ensure our wind turbines continue to achieve a high level of availability.
Responsibilities
* On site performance analysis and action plan implementation
* Work closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on the job demonstrations
* Support on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
* Provide on site software & hardware updates
* Support on-line and on phone technical support
* Create reports on turbine or turbine components
* Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience of working in the Mechanical / Electrical industry and knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams
* Mechanical or Electrical training through time-served or a technical college qualification at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Ability to identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions
Skills & Requirements
* Adaptability to an environment of continuous change and different challenges
* Positive attitude with willingness to learn, lead and continuously improve
* Computer literate and confident in using MS Office, in-house databases and workload management systems
* Willingness and ability to work at heights up to 140m; fitness and passing a working at height test
* Occasional travel including nights away from home
* Full UK / EU Driving Licence

Working Hours & On-Call
Hours: Core 40 per week (Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm) with overtime when required. Service Technicians may be required to respond to breakdowns and faults at weekends and be on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend (depending on team size). Overtime is paid at time and a half, with additional on-call payment for the weekend worked.
