Purpose
: Based in Market Harborough, Deichmann Shoes is the UK subsidiary of the largest footwear retailer in Europe and are currently looking to recruit a full time Buying Assistant to join our busy Head Office team.
Liaising with customers and suppliers, the successful candidate will complete a variety of administrative activities with a particular focus on order processing, stock intake & sample management.
This is a full time, permanent position and you will be required to work from the office 5 days per week. Ideal candidate: The role is varied and would suit an individual who is keen, flexible and motivated to work in a Head Office retail setting.
Whilst previous buying experience is not essential applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have an eye for detail, are highly organised and can prioritise their workload in order to meet deadlines.
Ideally you will be able to drive and be willing to travel sometimes for work purposes. Key activities:
1. Administer the sample confirmation process for the respective product area – Ladies footwear
2. Raise and review product orders
3. Maintain the range room, ensuring it is up to date, well organized and correct samples are on display
4. Responsible for monitoring confirmation samples and follow up when not received
5. Monitor arrival of deliveries, operating a reminder and follow up system
6. General administration associated with the buying function
7. Liaising with suppliers along with the Buyer on products
8. Supervising respective product area in the Buyers absence
9. Maintaining details of the e-shop styles up to date on the computer system and organizing styles for e-shop photography
Personal characteristics:
10. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent and/or have worked at this level
11. Have effective organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail
12. Have good IT skills including Microsoft Word Package (Excel and Power point)
13. Ability to work effectively on own and as part of a team
14. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to develop key working relationships
15. Be able to manage conflicting issues & demands
16. Self motivated and enthusiastic with ability to take a flexible approach to resolving work related issues
17. Demonstrate previous experience and/or knowledge of current fashion trends & activites in design, fashion & culture
Salary/Pay: £24,500
