Pulpex is now looking to appoint a commercially minded and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join the business. Reporting to the Finance Director and Site General Manager, this role will play a key part in supporting the finance function while partnering closely with operational teams across the site. The successful candidate will provide accurate costing, insightful financial analysis and hands-on support to help drive operational performance, efficiency and overall business profitability.
As Cost Accountant, you will take ownership of manufacturing costing and inventory control, ensuring robust processes, accurate reporting and meaningful financial insight to support decision-making.
You will be responsible for:
* Own end-to-end product costing, including materials, labour and overheads
* Maintain BOMs and ensure accurate inventory valuation across raw materials, WIP and finished goods
* Analyse production and cost variances (yield, scrap, labour, machine utilisation) to drive performance improvements
* Lead inventory control processes, including cycle counts, reconciliations and stock accuracy
* Partner with operations to improve efficiency, margins, labour planning and cost control
* Support month-end, audits and ERP optimisation while enhancing reporting, controls and data integrity
About You
We are looking for someone with strong experience in manufacturing finance
You will ideally have:
* Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOMs, variance analysis and inventory management
* Strong Excel and ERP system skills
* Exposure to SQL and/or Power BI would be beneficial
* The ability to turn operational data into clear, actionable financial insight
* Commercially minded and hands-on
