Support vulnerable young people aged 16-21 at risk of homelessness in a trauma-informed housing setting in SE14.
We are recruiting for a passionate and experienced Housing Support Worker to join a national charity supporting young people aged 16-21 in a high-needs 5-bed unit in Lewisham (SE14). You will provide practical and emotional support to help service users build independence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes.
Provide face-to-face, trauma-informed support to young people aged 16-21
Develop personalised support and activity plans tailored to individual needs
Support life skills including budgeting, cooking, and tenancy sustainment
Help service users access welfare benefits and attend relevant meetings
Monitor and maximise rent collection, addressing arrears appropriately
Act promptly to safeguarding concerns, ensuring resident safety at all times
We are looking for candidates with proven experience working in supported housing or youth support environments, ideally with young people facing homelessness or leaving care.
Previous experience supporting vulnerable young people or care leavers
Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and risk management
Ability to lone work and manage challenging behaviours with resilience
Confident in delivering life skills and community engagement support
Comfortable with admin tasks including rent monitoring and property checks
THE CONTRACT
~ Full Time - 35 hours per week
~ Shift pattern: Early shift 07:30 - 15:30, Late shift 14:00 - 22:00
~3-month temporary contract with potential to go permanent
~ 76 per hour LTD. The PAYE equivalent is £15.24 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
