Project Director - (Tier 1 Main Contractor) Location: South Buckinghamshire A leading Tier 1 Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major Flagship project in South Buckinghamshire. This is a high-profile, technically complex scheme requiring exceptional leadership, design coordination, and programme management expertise. The Role As Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project from pre-construction through to completion. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across design, commercial, and construction functions, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, programme, and client satisfaction. You will play a pivotal role in driving design development and coordination across complex packages, ensuring build ability and efficiency throughout. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of large-scale substructure and infrastructure packages including earthworks, remediation, piling, and major civils Take ownership of the design management process, overseeing Design Managers and external consultants Drive design coordination, ensuring integration across all disciplines Provide strong programme leadership, ensuring milestones and delivery targets are achieved Promote the use of BIM processes and clash detection to optimise design and construction outcomes Ensure technical excellence and buildability across all stages of the project lifecycle Manage stakeholder relationships including clients, consultants, and supply chain partnersRequirements Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager within a Tier 1 Main Contractor environment (essential) Strong background in data centre or industrial construction (mandatory) Extensive experience delivering large-scale civils, substructure, and enabling works packages Demonstrable expertise in design management and coordination on complex projects Strong leadership capability with experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams Advanced knowledge of BIM, digital construction, and clash detection processes Excellent commercial awareness and programme management skillsWhat's on Offer Opportunity to lead a flagship, technically challenging project Work with a top-tier contractor on a high-value scheme Competitive salary and benefits package Clear pathway for career progression within a leading organisationIf you are a driven and experienced Project Director looking to take on a complex and rewarding challenge, please get in touch with Lily O'Regan from our London office.
