We are looking for an experienced Big Data Developer to join a dynamic team working on cutting-edge data-driven solutions in the financial services sector. This role is ideal for professionals with strong Scala development experience and a passion for building scalable Big Data applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain applications using Scala, Python, Hadoop, and Java
* Work with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark and Hive (nice to have)
* Build scalable and high-performance data processing solutions
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment
* Participate in code reviews, testing, and performance optimization
* Ensure best practices in coding, architecture, and system design
Required Skills & Experience
* 2–5 years of software development experience
* Strong hands-on expertise in Scala
* Experience with Python and Java
* Experience working with Big Data frameworks (Hadoop ecosystem)
* Apache Spark experience is a strong advantage
* Solid understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field
Additional Requirements
* Must be based in the UK and authorized to work in the UK.
* Willingness to travel within the UK based on project/client requirements
