Job Summary
Complementary therapies play a powerful role in helping our patients with symptom control and providing emotional benefits, as we aim to make their lives a little easier at the most challenging time.
As part of our Support and Wellbeing team, you will work closely with patients across adult and children's inpatient and outpatient services, as well as their caregivers. You will also support staff and volunteers by providing person‑centred therapeutic interventions.
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate therapist who can help us deliver a high‑quality complementary therapy service. You will need to have:
* Diploma in one or more complementary therapies (massage, reiki, aromatherapy) as a minimum
* Post registration experience as a therapist; experience in a health care setting highly desirable
* Membership/Registration with a recognised professional association
Main Duties
* Be a key member of the Complementary Therapy team contributing to forward planning and development of complementary therapy services.
* Contribute to effective and efficient delivery of care to patients with life‑limiting illness and their families.
* Promote the highest quality of complementary therapy care and support to inpatients, outpatients, wellbeing patients and community patients as well as carers and the bereaved, working alongside other members of the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Work unsupervised delivering and maintaining high standards of care to patients and carers in Inpatients, Wellbeing, Outpatients and on occasions in the community.
* Ensure a comprehensive holistic assessment is undertaken prior to treatment and ongoing evaluation of interventions.
* Provide a range of specified Complementary Therapies which meet a variety of patient/carer needs.
* Comply with the requirements of the Professional Code of Conduct and Practice in accordance with national guidelines for the use of Complementary Therapies in Supportive and Palliative Care.

Qualifications – Essential
* Professionally recognised qualifications in Complementary Therapies
* Diploma in Body Massage
* Second Degree Reiki
* Membership of a professional association e.g. Federation of Holistic Therapies
* Up to date Indemnity Cover

* Diploma in Aromatherapy
* Diploma in Reflexology
* Indian Head Massage
* Crystal Healing
* Bowen Technique
* Oncology massage
* Other relevant training to the role
* Complementary Therapy qualification in relation to Palliative care or a willingness to undertake relevant palliative care training
