An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Demand Planning Manager, recruited on behalf of a client operating across Africa within a fast-paced, highly commercial environment. This role plays a pivotal part in translating strategic business plans into accurate, insight-led demand forecasts that drive service levels, profitability and long-term growth.
The successful candidate will take ownership of short, medium and long-term demand planning, working closely with Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain to deliver a single, aligned view of demand across the business.
Key duties include:
1. Leading the creation and refinement of demand forecasts at menu item level across multiple time horizons
2. Coordinating promotional forecasts and integrating them into the total business demand plan
3. Collaborating with Marketing and Finance to publish a consensus demand plan
4. Measuring and improving forecast accuracy through detailed analysis and insight generation
5. Supporting supply planning teams to manage risk, service levels and short-dated stock
6. Driving continuous improvement in demand planning processes, tools and ways of working
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
7. Extensive experience in demand planning within a complex, fast-moving environment
8. Strong forecasting and analytical capability, with advanced Excel skills
9. A strategic mindset with the ability to balance detail and big-picture thinking
10. Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and manage conflict effectively
11. High levels of resilience, proactivity and problem-solving under pressure
12. A minimum of 6–8 years’ experience in demand planning, with a relevant bachelor’s degree
