Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Engineer to join our customer’s dynamic Facilities & Maintenance team at the Advanced Propulsion Research Laboratory (APRL), located at the University of Warwick in Coventry. This is a contract position.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and resolve reactive equipment breakdowns, implementing long-term solutions.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on test equipment and facility systems.
* Support a wide range of test technologies including:
* Engine and vehicle dynamometers
* HVAC systems
* Fluid and gas conditioning systems
* Safety-critical monitoring systems
* Power distribution infrastructure
* Collaborate with the team to ensure safe and efficient operations aligned with SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) and environmental standards.
* Record and analyse fault data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Need
* Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an Engine or Vehicle Test environment.
* Strong practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
* Ability to troubleshoot and implement permanent corrective actions.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to support improvement projects and adapt to business needs.
* Flexibility to work on a rotational shift pattern.
Qualifications
* Minimum: Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
* Preferred: Level 4–5 qualification or equivalent experience
