This is an internship opportunity for students of Chichester College Group Only. About Hemiko Hemiko is the UK’s leading heat networks utility provider. We invest in, develop, build and operate low carbon district heat networks and building energy systems around the UK. We work with local authorities, communities, developers, house builders and property owners. Heat networks are a low carbon alternative to gas boilers, providing both heating and hot water. They work by distributing hot water around a town via pipes under the ground. Hemiko is developing the Worthing Heat Network, working in partnership with Worthing Borough Council. The Worthing Heat Network will initially supply low carbon heat to the hospital and council buildings in the town. Over time, we will expand the heat network to serve other non-domestic buildings in Worthing. Eventually, we expect to be able to connect domestic customers too. The first phase of the Worthing Heat Network is currently under construction. Construction involves digging trenches to lay pipe work under the ground. Currently just 3% of the UK’s heat is supplied by heat networks. By 2050, this will need to reach at least 20% in order for us to meet net zero. Hemiko is on the forefront of towns and cities transition to a net zero world. We are a young, friendly business in the very rapidly growing low carbon energy sector, which provides significant opportunities for career flexibility and development. We focus on delivering bespoke solutions with positive outcomes for the communities we serve. The Role Hemiko is seeking a Communications Intern to work as part of our External Affairs Team.
