Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Applicants should possess relevant technical skills and physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
The ideal person would have experience in property maintenance also
You will be responsible for the property maintenance of our clients. You will have a structured day where your appointments are pre booked and we will provide you with a vehicle and all the equipment you need to carry out your job efficiently and effectively. If tenants are at home when you visit, you'll enjoy chatting to them and acting as something of an ambassador, taking the opportunity to make sure they're happy and committing to getting any issues sorted. You'll appreciate the freedom of going out and about and working independently and relish the responsibility of making sure jobs are completed to a big level. You'll be absolutely dedicated to meeting deadlines, because you know we always keep our promises to tenants.
What you'll do
* You will be mobile working around the East and West Midlands in our portfolio of properties travelling to sites including Mansfield, Boston, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Telford. Occasionally from Manchester to London as our business grows.
* You will be responsible for working in both occupied and vacant properties undertaking maintenance, both planned and emergency works.
* You will be undertaking general building maintenance on properties, fixing doors, windows, handles, repairing fence panels, changing locks, painting, cleaning, grass cutting, clearing gutters, electrical etc, anything that is required to ensure our work is completed to a high standard.
* Responsible for providing signing off jobs after every completed job providing details regarding time on site, materials used and photos of works completed.

Duties
* Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques in accordance with project specifications.
* Repair or replace damaged or worn roofing components to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing.
* Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively during installation and repair tasks.
* Perform welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or other related tasks as required for specialised roofing projects.
* Conduct inspections of roofs to identify issues such as leaks or structural weaknesses and determine necessary repairs.
* Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards, maintaining a clean and organised worksite.
* Assist with heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, metal sheets, or other roofing components to facilitate efficient workflow.
Skills
* Experience with welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or construction is highly desirable.
* Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., hammers, chisels) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) for various installation tasks.
* Knowledge of roofing materials including shingles, tiles, metal sheeting, membranes, etc.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy materials.
* Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and the ability to work at heights confidently.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship.
* Physical stamina and resilience to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
