the #1 UK Modern University for Engineering and Computer Science (GUG 2025), Edinburgh Napier University leads innovation in a rapidly changing world through future-ready education across disciplines like AI, renewable energy, computer/data science, engineering, building and surveying.
Currently, our School of Computing, Engineering & Built Environment are undertaking a British Council-funded collaborative research project aimed at developing an Agentic AI system to enhance university performance in Nigeria.
As such we are recruiting a Research Project Administrator to assist with producing high-quality written outputs and preparing formal reports for the British Council, to ensure full compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
The Role:
As Research Project Administrator, you will have the opportunity to use your strong organisational and time-management skills to provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the project.
You will be in an excellent position to use your experience to play a key role in producing high-quality written outputs, including drafting and submitting a research article for publication in a peer-reviewed journal and preparing formal reports for the British Council to ensure full compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
Your written and verbal communication skills and experience of minute taking will also be put to good use, as you organise meetings, prepare agendas, take accurate notes, and track agreed actions while supporting the preparation of project progress and final reports for the funder.

What we will need from you:
* Honours Degree in a relevant discipline eg: Computer Science, Quantity Surveying, Real Estate, Architectural Technology or other related subject
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to take clear and accurate meeting notes
* Experience working in an academic, research, or project-based environment

Salary: £26,093 - £31,236 per annum (pro rata and depending on experience)
Hours: 3 hours per week
Contract: Fixed-Term – 17 months
