Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Baker/Confectioner to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a good background in making scones, tarts, decorated and plain cakes and cheesecakes from scratch.
This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality within the kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, tarts, quiche, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and menu specifications.
* Assist in the development of new dessert offerings, contributing innovative ideas to enhance the menu.
* Ensure all food preparation is conducted in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
* Maintain an organised and clean workspace, ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
* Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to the Head Chef.
Qualifications
* Proven experience making pastry, cakes, scones, sponges etcetera.
* Good knowledge of baking techniques, food production processes, and culinary terminology.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continually learn and improve skills within the kitchen environment.
