Job Title: Trainee Duty Manager
Reporting to: General Manager / Deputy General Manager
Department: Management
Overview:
As a Trainee Duty Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager and Heads of Departments (HODs) to learn and support the day-to-day operations of the hotel. Your role will involve gaining hands-on experience and developing the skills necessary to eventually take on full Duty Manager responsibilities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Learn to support the General Manager and HODs with the daily running of the hotel, observing and assisting in operational decision-making.
* Develop an understanding of the highest standards of service and hospitality, learning how to ensure every guest experience is faultless. You will be trained to host, meet, and greet guests professionally.
* Receive training in Health & Safety procedures, with a focus on fire safety and risk minimisation for both guests and staff.
* Practice guest interaction skills by engaging with guests to understand their satisfaction with food, service, and overall experience.
* Learn how to handle guest complaints and become familiar with the hotel's guest comments/complaints procedures under the guidance of the General Manager.
* Assist and shadow Heads of Departments to understand the smooth running of each department and learn how to resolve operational issues effectively.
* Be trained to perform duties as per the early/late duty checklist, including sleepover duties when required.
* Observe and assist with minor maintenance issues, learning how to identify problems and communicate effectively with the maintenance team.
* Gain experience in cross-departmental support, learning to be hands-on and adaptable in various areas of the hotel, especially during staff shortages.
* Undertake tasks and responsibilities as directed by the General Manager or Directors, with a focus on learning and development.
* Learn to be the first point of contact for events, including meeting prospective clients and understanding how to promote the venue and contribute to business growth.

Pay: Up to £12.50 per hour
