Band 2 - Switchboard Operator - Stepping Hill Hospital
Nightshift Hours / Flexible Hours
37.50 hours per week
Working hours is: 14:00 to 22:00
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our busy hospital Switchboard team. As the first point of contact for staff, patients, relatives, and external callers, you'll play a vital role in ensuring effective communication and supporting patient safety across the Trust.
This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two shifts are the same. The successful candidate will work the core hours of 14:00-22:00, however flexibility is essential, and you may be required to work morning or night shifts in line with service needs.

Please note that whilst the trust does offer sponsorship this role isunfortunatelynot eligible for visa sponsorshipunder the UK Health and Care Worker visa route. This is due to the position not meeting theminimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annumand/or the requiredskill levelset by UK Visas and Immigration.

Main duties of the job
What you'll do
* Handle high-volume internal and external calls
* Respond immediately to emergency calls (e.g. cardiac arrest, fire, security)
* Activate emergency response teams following Trust protocols
* Operate and maintain the bleep system
* Support on-call staff and maintain updated rotas
* Provide out-of-hours support to departments including the Patient Centre
* Work as part of a supportive team, with some lone-working shifts

* Experience in a call-handling or customer-facing environment
