Interim Food, Health & Safety Projects Officer – Hand Picked Hotels Location: As this role will cover the 21 hotels within the collection, you can be located in the Midlands or South with a base location of the nearest Hand Picked Hotel. Salary: Highly competitive salary, to be discussed during interview Job Type: Full-time | 12 month interim | 5 days out of 7 Come and join our Team We are seeking a Food, Health and Safety Project Officer for a 12 month interim role, supporting the review and development of existing Food, Health and Safety management systems, and the transition towards digital solutions. What will the role involve? Working closely with the Head of Risk and Compliance, the role will be responsible for the planning and delivery of specific Food, Health and Safety Management System (FHSMS) improvement projects across areas of general Health and Safety, Facilities compliance, Food Safety and Allergen management. Examples of projects undertaken will include: Gap analysis, review and development of existing paper-based H&S risk assessments, creation and assignment of risk assessments within company electronic software. Auditing, gap analysis and standardisation of existing safety and facilities compliance system to ensure compliance with company policy and legislative requirements. Gap analysis, review and development of existing due diligence records and systems of inspection, with transition from paper-based management into the company electronic software. The role will suit an experienced Environmental Health Practitioner, or a Health and Safety Practitioner with food safety qualifications (level 4) and relevant experience working within the hospitality, catering or leisure industry. Knowledge and understanding of relevant H&S and food safety laws and food information and allergen laws. Awareness of Leisure club and swimming pool plant operations would be advantageous. Good working knowledge with Microsoft 365 and the ability to adapt quickly to using new software is essential. Experience of ‘Riskproof’ software is desirable, but not essential. Excellent spoken and written English, the ability to proof-read own work are essential.
