This role requires someone with a genuine passion for animal care, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and to be a confident communicator. Pay: £13.00 per hour Working Hours: Monday - Friday - 25 hours a week. 5 hours of these must be on the weekend. 20 hours for the weekdays. Location: Sixpenny Day Nursery, Old Farrowing House, Roundway Hill Business Centre, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 2LT About our Nursery Our purpose-built Sixpenny Day Nursery at Roundway Hill Farm provides a stimulating learning environment for the children of the Devizes community. Bi-fold doors allow for free-flowing indoor and outdoor play and easy visibility of the wildlife in the acres of land around us, including rabbits and deer. The nursery also has a dedicated area for its own pygmy goats, where the children can excitedly feed and care for them. The team is proud of our Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ Devizes nursery, which specialises in outdoor learning and adopts a ‘Forest School’ learning approach. Situated in the Hamlet of Roundway, we are a short drive from Devizes and easily accessible from the A361. We are located next to the Roundway Hill Business Centre, off Hopton Road. We have plenty of parking on site for the team. Key Responsibilities: Provide daily feeding, grooming, and general care for the goats. Monitor the health and wellbeing of each animal, reporting any concerns promptly to management Clean and maintain goat housing and surrounding areas to a high standard. Assist with any veterinary visits or treatments as required. Maintain accurate records of care and health checks. Ensure the goats have safe and enriching environments. Weekly sessions with the children to groom/walk the goats with a staff member. Collecting the food, bedding and other items from the supplier. Communicate daily with management and inform them of any needs/concerns. Requirements: Experience working with animals (preferably goats or livestock). A proactive, caring approach to animal welfare. Reliability and flexibility with working hours. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
