Landscape Construction Manager – Southwest London & Home Counties Salary: £65,000–£75,000 per year (DOE) 25 days holiday (including 5 sick days after probation) pension Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm We are working with a prestigious landscaping company delivering some of the UK’s most design-led and technically demanding private gardens. They are seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Manager to oversee the translation of design intent into flawless, high-specification landscapes across London and the Home Counties. This is a leadership role for a highly organised, technically skilled professional with a deep understanding of both hard and soft landscaping, site logistics, and programme delivery. You will manage site teams, subcontractors, schedules, and quality assurance across multiple live projects, ensuring the highest standards in construction and client service. Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Site Coordination Lead the day-to-day execution of one or more high-end projects on site. Interpret technical drawings and design packages, identifying any discrepancies or buildability concerns. Manage all aspects of the build including groundworks, stonework, external joinery, paving, planting, irrigation, lighting, and finishes. Sequence work logically and coordinate subcontractors in line with project programmes. Team Leadership Supervise and mentor Site Managers, Skilled Landscapers, and Operatives. Conduct daily briefings and debriefings to monitor progress and reallocate resources. Coach junior team members on site skills, material handling, and design interpretation. Labour & Subcontractor Planning Forecast labour requirements and coordinate subcontractors and specialists (stone suppliers, irrigation engineers, lighting installers). Maintain clear and respectful communication across all trades to ensure smooth workflow. Programme & Milestone Monitoring Track project timelines daily, raising alerts for potential delays. Update internal programme tracking systems and attend weekly meetings with Contracts Managers and Designers. Health & Safety Take full responsibility for site H&S compliance, including inductions, PPE, RAMS, and toolbox talks. Ensure all incidents are reported and reviewed. Maintain a clean, safe site in line with CDM regulations. Procurement & Materials Coordination Coordinate deliveries, inspect materials, and ensure correct usage according to specifications. Manage storage and handling of materials on site. Client & Designer Engagement Attend site meetings with clients and designers, providing progress updates and raising key issues. Maintain professionalism and act as a positive representative of the company. Quality Control Oversee critical path elements including stonework, joinery, and planting. Maintain photographic records and daily logs. Sign off works with the Contracts Manager and contribute to snagging inspections. Required Skills & Experience 7 years’ hands-on landscape construction experience, with at least 3 years in team or site management in luxury/high-spec projects. Proven ability delivering large-scale residential gardens with complex logistics and high-quality finishes. Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and technical detailing. Strong knowledge of materials, drainage, ground preparation, site levels, and work sequencing. Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating across design, procurement, and commercial teams.
