The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) is seeking a results-oriented individual to join as a Grid Delivery Manager. In this role you will be responsible for delivering large-scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have high-level technical understanding of critical HV/MV infrastructure projects including substations, cables, and overhead lines, with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in delivering HV & MV infrastructure projects/programs from design to energization. The candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams such as design engineering, construction, planning, environmental, and real estate teams to ensure delivery to tight timelines. Stakeholder management and weekly reporting on key project risks and issues at senior management, director, and vice president level will be the candidate’s responsibility. The candidate will drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery executions, and support financial budgeting.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Deliver large-scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines.
* Leverage high-level technical understanding of critical HV/MV infrastructure projects including substations, cables, and overhead lines.
* Communicate effectively with diverse teams such as design engineering, construction, planning, environmental, and real estate teams to ensure delivery to tight timelines.
* Manage stakeholder relationships and provide weekly reporting on key project risks and issues to senior management, director, and vice president level.
* Drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery executions, and support financial budgeting.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or similar technical focus.
* Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
* Experience building and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
* 5+ years of experience in building power substations working with utilities and understanding their environment and culture.
* Experience in analyzing cost/benefit trade-offs across a strategic portfolio and demonstrated understanding of how to successfully transact business in multiple cultural contexts; experience directly managing international teams is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in data centers or critical infrastructure.
* Master’s Degree (MBA/MS) and/or PMP Certification preferred.
* Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure.
* Experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators.
* Ability to communicate in additional languages.
