Job Description
Team Leadership & Development
3. Lead, coach, and develop a team of QS and Commercial Analysts
4. Set clear objectives, manage performance, and build commercial capability
5. Allocate workload effectively and support career development
6. Foster a collaborative, high-performance and values-driven culture
Commercial Strategy & Governance
7. Oversee project feasibilities and budget setting
8. Ensure compliance with commercial governance, audit requirements, and frameworks
9. Own programme-level commercial reporting, providing insight to senior stakeholders
10. Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of commercial processes
Procurement & Supplier Management
11. Support procurement strategy across multiple programmes
12. Ensure robust benchmarking, rate alignment, and value-for-money assessments
13. Develop strong supplier relationships, driving performance and compliance
Project Delivery Oversight
14. Provide commercial leadership across multiple complex, high-value projects
15. Manage and mitigate commercial risks, cost pressures, and opportunities
16. Review and approve valuations, variations, change controls, and final accounts
17. Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets with accurate forecasting
Stakeholder Engagement
18. Partner with senior leaders across Property, Finance, and PMO functions
19. Provide commercial insight to support strategic decision-making
20. Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and supply chain partners
Continuous Improvement
21. Lead initiatives to enhance benchmarking, cost modelling, and reporting
22. Improve data quality and digital commercial processes
23. Identify and implement efficiencies across commercial governance
The Successful Applicant
24. Strong background in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (client, consultant, or contractor-side)
25. Experience in retail, property or multi-site project environments is highly desirable
26. Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor teams
27. Strong knowledge of cost planning, procurement, and contract administration
28. Experience managing budgets, analysing data, and controlling project performance
29. Familiarity with frameworks, schedules of rates, and standard forms of contract
30. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
31. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and commercially astute
32. Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
33. Advanced Excel and financial reporting capabilities
