About the Role
Milk Education is working closely with a wide range of Primary Schools across the WF postcode areas to recruit dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential in inclusive learning environments. Roles may involve 1:1 support, small group interventions, or classroom-based SEN support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language difficulties, and learning disabilities
2. Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support strategies
3. Assist with personal, social, and emotional development
4. Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
5. Adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs
Essential Teaching Assistant Qualifications / Experience
6. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
7. CACHE Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning
8. NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning
9. Relevant experience supporting children in a Primary School setting
10. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Desirable SEN Qualifications & Experience
11. Level 2/3 SEN Teaching Assistant qualification
12. CACHE Level 2/3 Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs
13. Team Teach, MAPA or equivalent behaviour management training
14. Experience supporting pupils with:
15. Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
16. ADHD
17. SEMH
18. Speech & Language needs
19. Global Developmental Delay
20. Makaton, PECS or other communication-based training
