This is a great opportunity for an R&D Test Engineer, to join a team of mechanical and electrical engineers within a fast-paced technology development environment.
Location & hours of work -
Working onsite at our Hedon Road site (HU9), on a full time basis, Monday to Friday.

Main purpose of job:
To build mechanical test/plant equipment associated to high temperature pressure vessels, high voltage equipment, fully instrumented piping, fittings, and filtration for management of gas and carbon. To conduct thorough testing with analysis and reporting requirements supported by calculations and data.
To work alongside mechanical and electrical engineering design teams following all associated health, safety, and environmental procedures. Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and consistent work ethic, remaining proactive and initiating problem solving abilities.
To integrate, build and support, through great communication, the R&D test & Product development team. Working with program management, internal and external interaction, and supporting customer meetings on technical projects as well as cross-business interface on common technical issues and challenges.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
* Work alongside the R&D Mechanical Engineering team and application Engineering team to test, operate & develop HiiROC proprietary technologies.
* Comply with HiiROC and site Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures.
* Appreciation for critical key project milestones, schedule, and prioritisation.
* Integrate the work of our mechanical, electrical, and controls & instrumentation teams.
* Build & test mechanical test rigs (bespoke) with instrumentation, controls and fixtures, problem solving and collaborative working.
* Drive the product commercialisation activities, FAT and R&D testing programs.
* Develop and follow RAMs, Test Procedures, LOTO, punch out and pre and post-tests.
* Effective communication producing the associated documentation (e.g. test requirements, results logs, test reports, handovers and safety check protocols etc.)
Qualifications & experience -
* Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Operational 5 years’ experience (essential)
* HND / NVQ level 3 – 4 in mechanical / electrical principals (essential)
* Experience of working in an operational or laboratory and test environment supporting test teams and problem solving.
* Ability to effectively communicate status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision.
* Experience working with general objectives regarding projects and team goals; applying judgment in selecting procedures and techniques that should be applied.
* Works collaboratively in a team environment.
* Hands on mechanical and electrical experience.
* BEng in mechanical engineering / electrical engineering + 5 years’ experience (desirable)
* Apprentice trained and +10 years’ experience (desirable)
Aptitude, skills and abilities -
* Must be able to work autonomously and work within multidisciplinary teams (essential)
* Must be able to follow test requirements, demonstrate engineering competence and generate reports managing data sets (essential)
* Ability to effectively communicate status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision (essential)
* Be fully adept to key Microsoft tools or equivalent (essential)
* Working with high-temperature/high-pressure processes and show an appreciation for high-power electrical systems (desirable)

You must display a good work ethic, proactive and motivated by a challenge. Have the ability to levels of professional and technical knowledge, whilst building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal/customers.
