Job Title: Conveyancing Fee Earner

Overview
An established and reputable law firm based in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Fee Earner to join its growing property department. This is a fee‑earning role, not secretarial, suitable for a qualified CILEX Lawyer, CILEX Paralegal, or someone currently studying towards CILEX with strong hands-on conveyancing experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion
* Handling a mix of freehold and leasehold transactions
* Acting on sales, purchases, transfers of equity, and remortgages
* Drafting contracts, dealing with enquiries, and reviewing titles
* Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and solicitors
* Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and firm procedures
* Providing a high level of client care throughout the transaction
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Conveyancing Fee Earner (not a legal secretary or assistant)
* CILEX qualified or working towards CILEX, or equivalent substantive conveyancing experience
* Ability to manage an independent caseload with minimal supervision
* Strong knowledge of residential conveyancing processes
* Confident communicator with excellent client-facing skills
* Highly organised with good attention to detail
Desirable
* Experience using case management systems
* Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
* Local knowledge of the Chelmsford / Essex property market
