King Edward VII Hospital, a prestigious private healthcare provider in London, is seeking an exceptional Operations Director to join our Executive Management Team. About the Role As Operations Director, you will provide executive leadership and direction for the day-to-day running of our hospital, home to approximately 300 dedicated employees. This pivotal role is responsible for delivering operational excellence, driving transformational change, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and service delivery. You will: Lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams across all operational areas, fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability and continuous improvement. Oversee clinical and non-clinical services, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery. Drive major organisational change initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, patient experience, and commercial performance. Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and champion quality improvement. Develop and manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and cost improvement initiatives. Build effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, representing the hospital at the highest level. What We’re Looking For Significant experience as a senior operational manager in a complex healthcare setting, ideally within a hospital environment (essential) Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with consultants and medical professionals (essential) Proven track record of leading major organisational change and business transformation. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of operational efficiencies and their impact on business performance. Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering operational excellence. Relevant third-level qualification in health services, business management, or a related field (Master’s degree or equivalent desirable). Strategic thinker with excellent planning, organisational, and analytical skills. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities. IT literate, with experience in applying information solutions to deliver transformational change. Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.
