Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Planning Officer to join a Development Management team within for a period of around 3 months. Hybrid working is available with requirement to travel to Oban/ North West Argyll every 2-3 weeks
The successful candidate will support the delivery of a high-quality planning service through the processing and determination of planning and related applications, providing pre-application advice, undertaking site visits, preparing reports and presentations, and assisting with planning committee processes.
Candidates should possess:
* A degree in Town and Country Planning or equivalent
* At least 2 years' post-qualification planning experience
* Sound knowledge of Development Management legislation and procedures
* Knowledge and experience of Scottish planning system
* Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and organisational skills
* The ability to manage a varied workload independently
Experience within a Local Authority setting, rural planning matters, and Development Management software systems would be advantageous.
