The opportunity:
As an Accident & Health Claims Handler you’ll provide a quality, first party, focused claims service for our corporate customers. You will be handling business travel and personal accident claims for a wide variety of situations, from lost luggage to life changing illness and injury. Our customers will look to you to work quickly and with empathy, to provide them support at an often-stressful time.
Working on a hybrid basis (50% office/50% home), you will join our Accident & Health claims team at our Whiteley office. Our experienced team ensures that they provide our customers with an efficient, professional, and empathetic service.
What will you be doing?
As a Claims Handler you will:
1. Promptly handle and positively resolve all enquiries from both customers and external contacts, to ensure the delivery of a focused claims service.
2. Review, resolve, and proactively finalise claims within authority limits, ensuring settlement at an optimum level with consideration to business implications.
3. Maximise productivity and profitability within the team.
4. Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.
Who are we looking for?
Ideally, we would like you to have some of the following:
5. Business Travel and Personal Accident claims experience is desirable, or previous claim handling experience from another line of business.
6. Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
7. Identify insights and trends on claims handling decisions.
8. Ability to work as a team player and cope with varying workloads and pressures.
9. Effective negotiation skills.
10. Numeracy, literacy and IT skills with knowledge of MS Office packages.
11. Relevant experience of working either in general insurance or progressing towards CII qualification
