Medivet Burton-on-Trent is now recruiting for a part-time RVN to join their friendly practice, which was recently refurbished in 2024. The practice is led by an experienced Branch Partner with a strong interest in ultrasound and cardiology.
Located near the A38, the practice is just 20 minutes from Derby city centre and less than 45 minutes from Nottingham and Birmingham, offering excellent travel connections.
We offer a flexible 25-hour week with a reasonable weekend rota (1 in 8 weekends at our Alfreton Hospital).

Responsibilities
Client care:
* Deliver exceptional care to clients every day.
Patient care:
* Support vets with operations and procedures.
* Carry out nurse-led appointments.
* Monitor and care for patients.
* Manage admissions and discharges as directed.
* Maintain accurate patient records.
* Ensure pre- and post-operation activities are completed.
* Provide daily care, including walking, toileting, and feeding.
* Transfer patients to out-of-hours care or for additional care as needed.
* Dispense and check medications under vet supervision.
Standards and Compliance:
* Ensure clinical compliance with standards and regulations.
* Adhere to health and safety requirements.
Commercial performance:
* Promote nurse-led appointments to enhance patient care and clinic capacity.
Communications:
* Hold daily briefings and coordinate activities for clinic efficiency.
Clinical administration:
* Take samples as directed.
* Manage lab test packaging and dispatch.
* Manage stock effectively, including rotation and expiry management.
* Escalate issues to management as needed.
* Prepare the back of house for procedures.
Skills, knowledge, and experience
* Registered with RCVS as a nurse.
* Team player.
* Supports nurse consultations and clinic operations.
* Delivers exceptional client care.
* Uses coaching and influencing skills effectively.
