Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills. As a Sous Chef, you will assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and safety are maintained while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
* Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food production and presentation.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
* Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative dishes that meet customer expectations.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
* Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
Experience
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
