This is a 12-month contract. The position involves business partnering with three state-of-the-art care homes, with a fourth added through a recent merger. Hybrid working is available (2-3 days in the office). You’ll join a passionate team and report to the Director of Finance, with duties including leading the finance team, ensuring financial controls, delivering management information and analysis, and attending Board meetings as required.

Your New Role
As Head of Finance (12-month contract), you’ll take on a pivotal role within the organisation. You’ll lead a dedicated finance team, foster a business partnering culture, oversee accounting systems, ensure compliance and financial controls, and deliver timely management information, analysis, and reporting. You’ll deputise for the Director of Finance and attend Board meetings as required. A key part of the role is mentoring and developing the team, contributing to projects, improving processes, and helping integrate the fourth home into the Royal Star & Garter family. Key duties include financial control, budget management, income and expenditure oversight, statutory compliance, managing the accounting systems, and leading the team’s development.
What You'll Need to Succeed
You're a capable and ambitious finance leader with excellent communication skills and a hands-on approach. Charity sector experience is essential, as you’ll be mentoring, training, and developing the existing team. You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with experience in team management, business partnering, and financial control. A genuine desire to make a difference and contribute to a greater purpose is important.
