Summary
On a steep growth curve and with a significant investment in Krakow, we are looking to hire a QA / Test Engineer to support the verification and validation of a range of products in our portfolio. This position blends a Test / CI developer with a test engineer role.
The candidate will design and implement tools, frameworks, and procedures for the verification and validation of ASSA ABLOY and Third Millennium solutions. The role involves executing tests, producing evidence of testing campaigns, contributing to feature design, engaging in test prototyping and fixture design, and developing test tools, frameworks, and methodologies to deliver best‑in‑class product solutions. The individual may work with diverse technologies ranging from embedded firmware to mobile applications and cloud services. This position requires a team player working across engineering teams to verify and validate products from concept through production.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Design, develop and maintain test methodologies, test frameworks, and test tools to validate existing and future product functionality (C#).
* Construct and execute test plans and document the results of testing campaigns.
* Analyze and collect metrics on defects / defect patterns to drive improvements in test coverage and product design.
* Work closely with software/firmware development teams and product owners/managers to ensure use cases and acceptance criteria are well defined.
* Contribute to standards and processes to continuously challenge and improve team practices.
* Participate in laboratory and test/development duties as required.
Required Education and Knowledge / Experience
* Engineering degree or equivalent or suitable experience.
* Minimum of 5+ years of related industry experience.
* Strong foundation in test/software engineering for embedded products.
* Knowledge of test/development methodologies such as BDD, TDD, acceptance testing, unit testing, and performance/reliability testing.
* Experience in systems and systems integration testing, including end‑to‑end testing.
* Experience in object‑oriented programming (e.g., C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python).
* Demonstrated problem‑solving and debugging aptitude.
* Ability to complete design and test tasks with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
* Hybrid opportunity based in Cardiff: two remote days per week.
