Our Water sector contractor client are seeking a General Foreman to work on Water/wastewater projects in the Thames Valley area.\n\nThe role is to proactively lead and effectively coordinate construction phase activities within the Project Teams promoting health, safety, environmental and construction best practice across the framework programme to demonstrating exemplary standards and leadership throughout the sector.\n\nThey work closely with customers and supply chain partners to receive outstanding results. Our client has committed to working collaboratively with Thames Water, valued strategic suppliers and other stakeholders to embed MMC (Modern Methods of Construction) to realise leading safety, health and wellbeing, quality, customer service, sustainability and efficiency performance improvements.\n\nWater/wastewater backgrounds or experience in water adjacent sectors such as Highways would be suited to these roles, providing permanent employment with secure work for minimum 5 years.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nAppraise the risk to the scheme in conjunction with the Project Manager and install and monitor adequate site security.\nIn conjunction with the site management team, manage the project procurement process for suppliers and contractors in line with the Company processes and commercial best practice.\nEnsure the site fulfils all obligations for external compliance audit.\nEnsure Permit to Work systems, Inductions and Briefings are correctly carried out.\nPlan and co-ordinate the operational delivery of the project as required.\nOversee the day-to-day construction processes and ensure co-ordination within the site team, client, and contractors.\nAttend meetings with and maintain necessary regular contact with clients and stakeholders. \n\nSkills/experience/qualifications\n\nExperience of working for a major sized Civil Engineering Contractor working on water or major highways schemes.\nSound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations as well as a comprehensive understanding and experience of a wide range of construction techniques and best practices.\nExperience of managing and developing staff.\nAdopt a proactive approach to the environment and customer care of all the stakeholders involved in a project - promotion of positive image of the Company name to protect and promote the brand name\nSMSTS (5 day).\nAppropriate CSCS card.\nFirst Aid at Work (4 day).\nExperienced in IT Packages e.g.
