Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils in an independent school setting in the Salisbury area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑resourced and supportive environment where a personalised approach to learning is a key focus.
You will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers while also leading lessons, interventions, and small‑group sessions when required. The school values flexibility and collaboration, meaning you may support across different subjects and age groups depending on need.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a smaller school environment and enjoys building strong relationships with pupils.
The Role:
Support teaching and learning across the classroomLead small‑group interventions and targeted support sessionsDeliver pre‑planned lessons independently when requiredProvide 1:1 support for pupils where neededAssist with planning, preparation, and classroom resourcesSupport behaviour management and emotional developmentWork across different subjects or key stages where requiredBuild strong relationships with pupils and staffMaintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environmentFollow safeguarding and school policies consistentlyIdeal Candidate:
Experience working in a school setting (TA or HLTA level)Confident leading lessons and small‑group activitiesStrong communication and organisational skillsAble to support pupils with a range of abilities and needsFlexible and comfortable working across different subjectsProactive, reliable, and team‑focusedHLTA qualification or equivalent experience desirableContract Details:
