Accounts Client Manager
Location: Manchester City Centre
Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 + bonus Hybrid (2 days WFH) + core hours 10:00 to 16:00
Are you an ACA/ACCA qualified Accounts Client Manager from practice, ready to step into a role where you can genuinely lead client relationships and shape delivery across a high-quality portfolio?
Our client is a leading independent Chartered Accountancy and Business Advisory firm, continuing to grow steadily and looking to add an experienced Client Manager to their Manchester team.
You’ll work with a broad mix of clients, from start-ups to established owner-managed businesses, with turnovers up to £200m, so no two days look the same.
The Opportunity
A varied, client-facing role where you will take ownership of a portfolio, lead accounts delivery end-to-end, and support the development of colleagues and trainees, with clear progression as the firm continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and project manage a portfolio of non-audit clients
* Take the lead on accounts preparation, from initial planning through to final sign-off
* Lead and develop client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact
* Track job progress and manage billing targets
* Ensure work is completed to a high standard, on time, and in line with financial regulations
* Respond to client queries in a timely, efficient manner
* Use systems including CCH, Sage and Xero
* Support colleagues and trainees with development and technical guidance
Requirements
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Proven experience in practice as a Client Manager (or equivalent portfolio management role)
* Strong background across accounts and tax
* Commutable to Manchester City Centre
* Confident managing deadlines, stakeholders, and multiple client priorities
Salary and Benefits
* £45,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience) plus bonus
* 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
* Hybrid working: 2 days working from home
* Flexible working with core hours 10:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday
