Food Technology Teacher (Secondary)
About Us: We are a forward-thinking secondary school with a strong commitment to practical education and skills development. Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons that engage and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
2. Create a classroom atmosphere that promotes hands-on learning, safety, and a love for cooking and nutrition.
3. Employ diverse teaching strategies and resources to meet the varied needs of students and enhance their practical skills.
4. Regularly assess student performance through practical projects and written evaluations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
5. Work collaboratively with the Food Technology department and other staff to enrich the curriculum and integrate interdisciplinary approaches.
6. Lead and participate in extracurricular activities, such as cooking clubs, food fairs, and special events, to enhance students' learning experiences.
Requirements:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree or relevant qualification in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or a related discipline.
8. Proven experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary school level.
9. In-depth knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and food safety.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
11. Enthusiastic about inspiring students to develop practical skills and a passion for food.
