General Responsibilities
* Communicate with patients who have specific needs such as mentally ill, physically impaired, young children, elderly patients, very ill patients, non‑English speaking, deaf or visually impaired patients.
* Liaise with interpreting services for non‑English speaking and deaf patients.
* Communicate with patients and their carers/families who are given distressing news such as a cancer diagnosis or untreatable serious conditions.
* Offer psychological support and liaise with other teams such as palliative care.
* Communicate about delays in clinics, avoiding and resolving conflict where possible.
* Promote the department, the Trust and the local population in the most positive manner at all times.
Visa and Sponsorship
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK independently, with a visa or immigration status that allows them to fulfil the full duration and type of contract offered. The Trust is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Additional Information
The Trust provides services at Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital, for a local population of over 500,000 people. The Trust is a smoke‑free organisation. Due to limited parking spaces, car parking permits will be allocated subject to compliance with the Trust’s eligibility criteria and availability of spaces. Permit holders are not guaranteed a parking space.
