About the Role As an HR Assistant you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of HR processes, including recruitment, employee record-keeping, and general HR administration. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in HR within the education sector. This is a part-time opportunity (0.8 FTE) worked over five days, ideal for someone who wants to make a big impact within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support across all HR functions, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Assist with recruitment processes, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, and preparing offer letters and contracts. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases. Support the onboarding and induction process for new starters. Process changes to employee terms and conditions, such as contract amendments and leaver documentation. Assist in monitoring and recording staff absence, including sickness and annual leave. Respond to HR-related queries from staff, escalating where necessary. Ensure compliance with college policies, employment legislation, and safer recruitment guidelines. Support HR projects and initiatives, including staff wellbeing and training programmes. About You We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and ready to learn. You don’t need to be an expert, but an interest in HR and the drive to develop is essential. What you’ll bring: CIPD Level 3 or a desire to work towards it. Previous admin experience (ideally in a HR or education environment). Basic knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices. Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional approach.
